Terms & Competition Rules
Version v1. Effective date: 1 July 2026.
Eligibility
The Challenge is open to enrolled students who are 18 years of age or older at the time of registration. Undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students may participate. The organiser may request evidence of student status or age eligibility from advancing teams.
Teams
A team may consist of one (1) to six (6) members. Each individual may participate as an active member of only one team, and each team may submit one entry. Team leaders are responsible for managing invitations and team membership. Invited members must register using their own email, provide their own information, and accept the applicable Privacy Notice and Terms before they are recognised as active participants.
Submission and Deadlines
The deadline for preliminary submission is 24 August 2026 at 23:59 BST. The platform will enforce server-side deadline checks. Draft submissions that are not finalised before the deadline will not be considered submitted. The organiser may extend the deadline only for confirmed platform-level incidents or other exceptional circumstances, and may record that decision in the audit log.
Rules and Judging
Technical rules, deliverables, and scoring criteria are set out in the official problem statement. Participants must provide accurate and truthful information, comply with the applicable raw-data and knowledge-exchange restrictions, and cooperate with reasonable requests from the organiser or judges for clarification, supplementary material, or spot checks.
The organiser may reject, remove, or disqualify submissions that are incomplete, fraudulent, unsafe, malicious, infringing, unlawful, or materially inconsistent with the Challenge rules.
Intellectual Property
Participants retain ownership of their pre-existing materials and submissions. At final submission, active team members will be asked to grant the organiser a non-exclusive licence to receive, store, copy, review, evaluate, display to judges, and administer the submission for Challenge purposes. Any commercialisation, publication, recruitment, or follow-up collaboration shall be negotiated separately and is not granted automatically by entering the Challenge.
Conduct and Platform Use
Participants must not upload malware, unsolicited personal data, unlawful content, datasets or model weights where the instructions prohibit their inclusion, or any files that they do not have the right or necessary authorisation to provide. The organiser reserves the right to remove any such content, suspend access to the Challenge, or revoke a participant's eligibility or participation where necessary to protect the Challenge, participants, judges, or other third parties.
